A short list, in no particular order, of my most common questions. Also, please feel free to contact me regarding any questions you may have.

How much does it cost to have a website designed?

Every project is unique. I charge $50 per hour, but I provide quotes beforehand for large projects (such as designing a website). The cost of your particular project depends on the type of website and technical complexity.

With that said, a simple static informational website for a small business is probably going to be $200-$500 while a highly complex e-commerce store may well be a full time job for a while.

Is this a good investment?

Well, I sure think so :). Honestly, for almost all businesses, a website is quite easily one of the best investments possible. Over the life of  your business, the up front cost of having it developed is very small compared to the limitless return on investment potential. Depending on the type of business, it may only take a few web visitors to pay for itself.

Why is a website important?

There is a new and growing segment of the consumer population that make most or all of their consumer decisions based on what they first find and research online, a website opens the doors to this consumer base. Having a website for your business or personal brand allows you to help control what people find when they search for your product, service, or business. A website also improves your credibility, since a web presence is expected from nearly all businesses in existence.

How will people find my website?

Most websites are found through search engines. Other common sources of web traffic are links shared through sites like facebook, sent by email, or distributed on business cards and other advertising and print mediums.

Will I show up on the top of search results?

While I do actively study SEO (search engine optimization) techniques, and provide higher quality SEO integration than almost any do it yourself website or bargain basement designer, it is impossible to guarantee specific results. Your position on the search page is influenced by many factors which I will address during our consultation if necessary. Learn more about SEO.

Will I be able to edit pages on my site?

Basic text editing can be done with the implementation of a content management system (CMS). Setting up a CMS is fairly common for most websites these days except for very basic websites that do not change very often. I can manage your site for you or setup a CMS and teach you to do it yourself.

If you have a CMS to edit your website, but don't know HTML, you'll still be limited to fairly basic editing of just text and some formatting (bolding, changing colors, adding links, etc).
